WEEK 4

Workshop activities:

  • refresher of previous activities
  • individual monologues

Research monlologue for hot seating next week: Read Arden of Feversham and gain understanding of the character of Alice.

Ian began this lesson by asking different members of the group to run the warm up by leading peices we had learnt in other lessons, for instance 'Hark! to the beat of the drum' pitch exercise etc. I was asked to lead the pronunciation exercise of reciting 'When your lying awake'. I really struggled to remember it as I had concentrated on learning Hamlet and neglected to refresh my memory of 'when your lying awake' the night before the lesson like I usually do. I'll definately have to learn from that one.

We were given our individual performance monologues and I recieved the part of Alice from Arden of Feversham. I have never even heard of this play so I'm a bit nervous and I'll have to do lots of research to understand it and obviously read the play!
